Macy’s Celebrates the 100th Birthday of Romare Bearden

1 Feb

Romare Bearden's, 'The Lamp'.

It is the first day of Black History Month, and we wanted to share a very special event happening at various Macy’s stores across the country.

Different Macy’s locations will be hosting receptions that feature the Bearden’s work, as well as pieces created by other artists who were influenced by him. Jazz musicians will perform his music, and with any Macy’s purchase of $50 or more, customers will receive a complimentary scarf printed with ‘The Lamp’.

The Pittsburgh Macy’s downtown will be hosting this event on February 9th at 5:00 p.m.

(The Fab Girls received a $50 Macy’s gift card  from Everywhere in exchange for this post.)
