No Poll Necessary: Gwenyth Paltrow, Girl, Bye!

7 Mar

She might have Jay-Z over for green smoothies and a few rounds of Uno. She might be Beyonce’s BFF, but The Queen of All Things Bootylicious needs to give this woman a talking to about words she shouldn’t use. Read her side-eye worthy comment after the jump:

This is what Ms. Paltrow had to say in a New York Times article about her equally wealthy, non-FAB designer friend and daughter of Sir Paul McCartney:

I’ve actually never seen someone go from such a free spirit to such a kind of beautifully conventional, hard-working life as a wife and mother. She was in full fun mode when I met her, and I just fell in love with her. She was shockingly honest. I always say there’s this kind of hidden ghetto side to Stella. She’s tough. She doesn’t back down from someone who might have less to lose than her.

Girl, bye.  ‘Ghetto’ is defined by Wikipedia as “an overcrowded urban area often associated with specific ethnic or racial populations living below the poverty line”.You are not about that life.

Of all the words you learned in whatever fancy private school you surely attended, you could have used any other one besides ‘ghetto’ to describe your friends extrenely difficult existence as a working wife and mother surrounded by nannies, personal assistants, household staff and other assorted minions siutation.

What do you think of her use of the word? Tell us in the comments!
