Our thoughts and prayers are with Kile Glover, his mother Tameka Raymond, his father Ryan, his step dad Usher and the rest of his family and friends. Kile was injured in a jet skiing accident and recently pronounced brain dead. We are praying for a miracle; that this sweet boy is made well and makes a full recovery. Please join us in prayer!

FAB, Girl! or Girl, Bye! : Keisha Knight-Pulliams Red Carpet Look

5 Apr

Keisha Knight Pulliam turned up at the Atlanta premiere of ‘Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man’ in this interesting ensemble. While it’s certainly chic and unique, (I’m a rapper, y’all!), is it right for a movie premiere?

Especially when you see this:

Now mind you, Keisha is not a star of the film so she could be a little more casual. But, something about her look just doesn’t seem done to me. I think the top being tied that way is what is off to me. It seems kinda random. But as usual, this isn’t about what I think. What do you think, FAB Ones?

FAB Woman Making History:Corvida Raven

photo from techpeek.me

Meet Corvida Raven.

The mohawk wearing twenty four year old has dubbed herself ‘The Oprah of The Web’, and for good reason. Just like Oprah uses her show to educate the masses on different things to make their lives easier, Ms. Raven does the same thing with technology.

She’s making history because there’s not a ton of women, and even less women of color, making careers in technology. She blogs, consults with companies, is the cofounder of Everything Twitter and the Social Geeks podcast. Her website shegeeks.net is a includes social media tips, reviews of apps and tutorials.

FAB Girls historically have shied away from careers in science, math and technology, and  it’s refreshing to see Ms. Raven put such a cool, FAB face on an industry where we’re underrepresented.

FAB Women Making History: FAB Women Flight Crew

13 Feb

Four FAB, fly women made history exactly three years (and one day) ago when they became the first all FAB flight crew.

On February 12, 2009, Captain Rachelle Jones and First Officer Stephanie Brown Grant were joined by flight attendants Robin Rogers and Diana Galloway on Atlantic Southeast Flight 5202 from Atlanta to Nashville, and flight 5106 from Nashville back to Atlanta.

See their interview below!

Meet Maya Penn.

You may think this photo of the eleven year old is from a dance recital, and you would be wrong. It’s from the pint sized designer’s shop on Etsy!

Maya Penn is the CEO of Maya’s Ideas, a line of handmade, environmentally conscious clothes and accessories. She recycles different fabrics and re imagines them into beautiful hats, scarves, bags, and other items.

In addition to being a businesswoman, she is a philanthropist, donating 10% of her proceeds to Atlanta area charities. She has been profiled by Forbes magazine’s list of grade school entreprenuers and interviewed by Fox Atlanta.

We see a bright future ahead of this FAB Girl!
